9th International Symposium „MODERN TRENDS IN LIVESTOCK PRODUCTION“, Belgrade, October 7th to 9th 2009

The Symposium  was opened by Dr. Stevica Aleksic, Director of the Institute and President of the Organizing Committee, Dr. Radoslav Cerovic, Deputy Minister, Ministry of Science and Technological Development, Dr. Milan M. Petrovic, State Secretary, Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management of the Republic of Serbia, Prof. Dr. Martin Waehner, president of the International Scientific Committee.

Scientific research organizations - participants in the Symposium: FACULTY OF AGRICULTURE BELGRADE, NOVI SAD AND PRISTINA, FACULTY OF VETERINARY MEDICINE, VETERINARY INSTITUTE IN BELGRADE AND NOVI SAD, INSTITUTE FOR FORAGE CROPS, KRUSEVAC, FACULTY OF AGRICULTURE, ČAČAK, FACULTY OF TECHNOLOGY, NOVI SAD , INSTITUTE OF FIELD AND VEGETABLE CROPS, NOVI SAD, etc.. Papers of scientists and researchers from 16 countries of Europe and the world were selected and presented - GERMANY, ITALY, POLAND, SLOVAKIA, BULGARIA, EGYPT, SLOVENIA, CROATIA, HUNGARY, LITHUANIA, ROMANIA, MACEDONIA, ALBANIA, MONTENEGRO, BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA, JAPAN, CHINA, INDONESIA, etc.
During the course of the symposium, in three days, a total of 105 paperswere presented, 62 papers by domestic authorsand53 by foreign, in 6sections, where the works are presented in the oral and poster sessions.
At the symposium, the latest findings and developments in the field of new biotechnology in genetics, breeding, reproduction, physiology, nutrition, animal food, animal products and technology, animal health protectionwere presented; the already existing cooperation with research institutions and individuals strengthenedand new contacts establishedwith individuals and institutions in the field of animal husbandry and an agreement on the joint application project SEE-ERA.NET.

3. International Congress “NEW PERSPECTIVES AND CHALLENGES OF SUSTAINABLE LIVESTOCK PRODUCTION”, Belgrade October 5th to 7th2011

The aim of the congress is to exchange new information, scientific research results and a comparison with international research in terms of scientific achievements, application of results in practice, cooperation with similar research institutions, new biotechnologies in genetics and breeding, nutrition, physiology, reproduction (gene mapping, new products, drugs, enzymes, hormones, environmental protection, quality products, animal welfare, etc..).
Traditional International Congress included the following topics: breeding system of domestic animals, production technology and quality of products, livestock welfare and health care and alternative livestock production.
The Congress was opened by Dr. Milos Lukic, director of the Institute and President of the organizing committee, prof. Dr. Nada Dragovic, Deputy Minister, Ministry of Education and Science, Republic of Serbia, Prof. Dr. Martin Waehner, president of the International Scientific Committee.

On the basis of submitted abstracts and papers, papers of scientists and researchers from 15 countries of Europe and the world were selected and presented - GERMANY, ITALY, POLAND, SLOVAKIA, BULGARIA, EGYPT, SLOVENIA, CROATIA, HUNGARY, LITHUANIA, ROMANIA, MACEDONIA, ALBANIA, MONTENEGRO, BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA, JAPAN, CHINA, INDONESIA, and over 50 papers by experts and researchers from renownedresearch and educational institutions of Serbia - FACULTY OF AGRICULTURE,BELGRADE, NOVI SAD AND PRISTINA, VETERINARY MEDICINE, VETERINARY INSTITUTE IN BELGRADE AND NOVI SAD, INSTITUTE FOR FORAGE CROPS, KRUSEVAC, FACULTY OF AGRICULTURE, ČAČAK, etc.The total number of participants in 155 (115 from Serbia and 40 from abroad). During the Congress a total of 176 works were presented, under 6section, where the papers were presented orally and in the poster sessions. The Congress was attended by many scientists and researchers as the actuality of treated problem, the researche results presented  reflect the latest trends in livestock production in different climatic and economic conditions around the world, the cooperation between the fixed and established new contacts with individuals and institutions in the field of animal husbandry, as well as an agreement on joint applying to international projects.
